Making good, great, is the ultimate ambition of any major event, and, with the 2017 UK Credit and Collections Conference (UKCCC) on 13 to 14 September, that is our mission – to be the essential destination for every industry professional.
Innovation, technology, compliance While we still wish to keep some of the detail under wraps, I can tell you that the key theme will be one of innovation and technology, complemented by the biggest issue that continues to dominate our space – compliance. Technology has come a long way in a
short space of time and we are using it more and more to create business efficiencies. With change happening so quickly, we will
be looking at best-practice in mitigating risk, and the increasing need to protect businesses from the ongoing threat of cyber attacks.
Back to business Getting ‘back to business’ is certainly another theme that we are going to be focusing on this year, following a lengthy period dominated by indutry regulatory change. We are also looking at what is happening in the utility and alternative-lending space and how collections strategies, in these areas, are gearing up for the big market changes that have also been predicted. Attendees will have a choice of streams throughout the day. These
streams will be highly interactive, enabling delegates to get as much value as possible out of attendance, in the form of networking, knowledge insight, and 360-degree feedback from expert speakers. Content, as always, is king, and will need to be fresh as we
recognise the importance of not ‘going over old ground’. We are currently compiling a list of presenters and speakers to deliver maximum value to visitors whose job roles are many and varied, spanning collections and recoveries, credit, risk, legal and compliance, training, and business development. We recognise the broad range of sectors we need to
accommodate, as reflected by those who have previously attended including Avon, Ardent Credit Services, Admiral Group, Barclays

Bank, Santander, the Cabinet Office, Islington Council, Scottish Power, EDF Energy, eBay, Arrow , and Lowell Group. We will also be joined by the regulators
and a range of other trade bodies and, once again, we hope to welcome the Financial Conduct Authority, Ofgem, Ofwat, and more.
Identity The venue,
for the third year in
succession, is the Hilton London Wembley – a venue that not only boasts a spectacular view of the stadium itself, but also allows space to network and break-out from the main sessions. Our 25-stand-strong exhibition will
showcase a range of industry solutions from global technology consulting firms to payments services providers, from the world of both consumer and commercial credit and collections. UKCCC is very confident of its own
identity. It now has an established track record, but that does not mean that we are not constantly thinking of new ways to allow you
to maximise the value of your visit. Literally. We have a range of ticketing options, including one that wraps accommodation and dinner into a single price and which has always proved particularly popular, amongst small companies, due to its value for money. As always, we will have a few surprises to announce, closer to the event.
Key elements What will not be a surprise, is that we are delivering those elements of the event that prove the most popular, including the networking dinner, combined Wembley Stadium tour, and, of course, the credit industry golf day once, again at the stunning Moor Park mansion. One of our previous hosts, the broadcaster John Humphrys, left
the event in 2015 declaring: “I now know more about the credit industry than I could have imagined. It was a real eye-opener.” Our ambition is for everyone who comes to UKCCC to leave
a little wiser than when they arrived, and help them to do their job even better. CCR
