Editor’s Viewpoint
IT is the first edition of the year and regular readers will notice a few subtle changes to the style of your favourite magazine.
The publication began as a smallish booklet style newsletter, and today it has grown into an advertising-packed must-read for the waste, recycling and of course, skip hire industries.
Change is never easy, but we have tried to keep things fairly straightforward and tidied up some of the sections to make things easier to read.
We’ve introduced a new look to some of the regular sections, and hopefully they will reflect the modern world we live in.
The magazine has always had a fun element and it is essential we don’t lose this - so we’ve rebranded the Skip Chick and Hunk pages and also added a new feature “Who Let The Dogs Out,” looking at your beloved pets who rule the roost at a great many sites.
I want to see more features on people involved in the industry, and in 2017 we will have many more first person interviews with leading industry players.

However, the guy or gal on the shop floor is equally as important, and there will be plenty of focus on the people
who make our industry tick and operate at the sharp end of things.
In June this year, we will be inviting many of you to the WASTE’17 exhibition, which we are proud to host at Old Trafford, Manchester. Going to ‘The Theatre of Dreams’ is a big step up for us, and already the demand for spaces has been incredible.
I personally cannot wait to see friends and new exhibitors at the show, which is fast turning into one of the go-to events of the year for those involved in our industry.
2017 is going to be a massive year for our magazine, and I look forward to sharing the journey and hearing your thoughts whether they are good or bad!
