WASTE RECYCLING BlueMAC’s SPALECK screen deck proves a
money-saving success for Enablelink Ltd Enablelink Ltd, the metal merchants formed in 2007 by Roy Millard, has taken delivery of the UK’s first quality SPALECK Screen Deck designed specifically to extract dirty fines from scrap metal to leave a clean final material.
The screen deck was built within the BlueMAC Manufacturing frame at Enablelink’s Bilston site, near Birmingham, while the sale, design and construction was by appointed distributers Blue Southern.
Enablelink invested in a complete solution which furthers their scrap metal processing capacity, and enhances the cleanliness and quality of the end-material produced by eliminating dirty fines.
MANUFACTURER KNOCKBACKS
The fines were costing Enablelink around £80,000 a month in revenue, due to steel manufacturer knockbacks and the increased electricity cost to the steel manufacturer.
Ordinarily, a steel manufacturer uses 340-350 kWh of electricity per tonne to melt steel, and around 500-600 kWh to melt dirty fines - almost double the amount of electricity.
After trying several solutions, Enablelink turned to equipment distributor Blue Southern and their sister company BlueMAC to provide a screening solution.
EnableLink’s Managing Director, Roy Millard, has predicted the machine will have paid for itself within 2 years.
