Lanarkshire skip hire company wins big at
Scottish Transport Awards New Town Waste Solutions and Skip Hire were recently announced as Scottish Environmental Haulier of the Year at the prestigious Scottish Transport Awards.
Company directors Billy Neilson and Martin McLindon, whose company is based in Lanarkshire, receive the prestigious award on behalf of their employees at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Glasgow. Billy Neilson said: “It is an
absolute honour to be the winners of this award, and I would thank like to thank everyone who voted for us. “Everyone at New Town Waste
Solutions recognises our actions and daily activities have an impact on the environment – whether it be the purchase of a new truck or heavy plant, environmental impact is a key factor in our final decision making.
“Every vehicle we have
purchased in the last five years has been at the forefront of fuel efficiency, keeping our operating costs minimal and having little impact on the local environment.” New Town Waste Solutions
employs 55 staff and operates from two sites, with the head office and recycling centre in Motherwell, where it processes over 90% of all materials it receives daily. They also hire out a range of skips, ranging from 4 yard to 40 yard.
