Indoor waterpark comes to Quebec


illed as “the most important four season resort in Eastern Canada”, Village Vacances Valcartier Resort has opened an indoor waterpark called Bora Parc. Launched on December 6, it was designed by the Aquatic


Development Group (ADG) and is the first of its kind in Quebec. The Polynesian-themed facility spans more than 102,000 square feet (9,476 sq


m) and features 14 slides from WhiteWater together with a FlowRider Double from ADG, a 4,000 sq ft (372 sq m) wave pool and an adventure wave river utilising ADG's WaveTek wave generation technology. With a capacity of 1,000 people, Bora Parc also features 14 plus slides from WhiteWater, of which five are 50 feet (15 m) tall. There is also a family zone with its own pool and activities, a restaurant terrace with private space for groups and events, plus private cabanas. “Our expertise in waterpark and winter


playground management has allowed us to improve our entertainment experience," notes Guy Drouin, president and general manager of Village Vacances Valcartier. "Our vacationers now have the chance to visit a waterpark in any season.” Built at a cost of $65 million, the


waterpark was introduced in order to increase guest's length of stay and provide a market differential to stay ahead of competition. It is complemented by a new 4-star hotel offering year-round accommodation. Village Vacances Vaclartier management reported a large turnout during the Christmas holiday season.


Great Wolf Lodge


Colorado Springs Opened on January 27, the latest Great Wolf Lodge indoor resort in North America, in Colorado, features a 50,000 square feet (4,645 sq m) indoor waterpark, the largest in the state. Attractions, “free” and exclusive to resort guests, include a five-storey funnel slide from ProSlide, a Fort Mackenzie-themed multi- level interactive treehouse from WhiteWater and an ADG WaveTek wave pool. Most of the bigger slides, like Alberta Falls, Howlin' Tornado, Mountain Edge Raceway, and Wolf Tail are also from ProSlide. “We are thrilled to officially open the doors and welcome our first families to
