W
e have already seen a huge shift from traditional cash transaction machines to our cashless options over the last 18 months. In fact, our Thomas range of PayStations now include full Chip & Pin / Contactless readers as standard. This includes the Thomas TA8012C Semnox compatible machines which are helping to drive the proliferation of contactless in the FEC & LBE sectors. Our customers are learning that by having these innovative products in their venues it is allowing them to drive efficiency and enabling them to focus resources on the core of their business, rather than spending valuable time emptying cash from machines. Other LBE focused machines include the Thomas TA8010C machine, which allows users to purchase a ticket either via cash or credit / debit card. It’s predicted that by 2024 only 7% of retail purchases will be cash and we can see this rapidly moving that way already, so we are constantly looking at new product developments to meet this demand.

Since COVID struck we have seen our orders for machines with cashless solutions grow massively, with foreign holidays currently off the menu for many this year our customers have taken advantage of the huge potential for increased revenues with most British holidays being of the staycation type. Our customers take the safety of their visitors and staff members seriously and have proved this by investing in our wide range of Thomas Change, Token, Ticket and Card dispensing machines to deliver their products as safety and securely as possible. With current restrictions about to be eased in the UK we at Playsafe believe our customers will continue to move forward with the new cashless approach and see the benefits of it being a safer and more efficient way to operate any AGC/FEC/LBE.

We have listened to our customers and have been working closely with our partners such as Semnox, with its cashless system. Our partner product the 8012C was designed to allow users to not only be able to purchase a Semnox Funcard, but also revalue that card. Also, if required at the end of their session, the user can reinsert their card and obtain an instant refund. In 2021 we took the opportunity during lockdown to develop a new micro Semnox revaluation terminal the Thomas 8412C. Given its smaller footprint, this floor standing machine allows customers to increase the number of POS points within their business, ensuring users have easy access to Funcard revaluation and stops high track at the main PayStations. This highlights our ability to react quickly to market demands and trends, helping customers increase the efficiency and profitability.
We have also just launched our Payter contactless machine conversion kits. These kits are easily installed by our customers and fit to any machine with an MDB/Pulse coin mech. The Payter kit provides the perfect turnkey solution to converting any machines that traditionally take cash to enable a cashless payment without the expense of purchasing new machines.
We continue to work closely with our customers in various markets in an effort to develop new and exciting products, using our very skilled team of developers in Bath. All of our products are designed and manufactured in the UK to a very high standard, we believe it’s the build quality and ongoing in-house product support that we offer that is setting Playsafe Systems above the rest in the UK today.
