A look back at the best G2E in recent memory – we saw some wonderful stuff there…

G Editor’s letter

2E was incredible. I saw the best technology, the most creative develop- ments in gaming, that I

have seen in years. It’s a very excit- ing time to be in our industry; there is a change brewing, new blood developing a new breed of games to appeal to a customer we have not really spoken to much in the past. I truly loathe the term ‘Millennial’ (unless I happen to spot a falcon while walking the dog, then I may refer to it as such (as in, ‘Woah – millenial!’). I know, it’s not the name of the actual ship, but it works better as a comedy adjective) but it’s the term everyone is using. I’m not sure they see themselves as Millennials though, they’re just people – and as an industry we have to recognise their passions and desires, and realise how we can work toward meeting their needs. One man who has his fin- ger ont he pulse is Seth Schorr, CEO at Downtown Grand Las Vegas, and we interviewed him earlier this year. You can read that on page 28; I truly believe he has nailed what eSports players want, and recognised that new players may not, in fact, be lured by money at all. It’s the recognition and understanding of this that will drive new traffic to your casino floor. Feedback, as ever, to… Jon Bruford, Managing Editor jonbruford@yahoo.co.uk +44 1584 877177
