Downtown Grand leads the way in eSports
The world’s first casino with a dedicated eSports area is in Las Vegas – but not on The Strip, it’s just off Fremont Street. Seth Schorr, Chairman of Downtown Grand, may just have seen the future – and the future is eSports.

owntown Grand is a Vegas treat, rising from the ashes of the Lady Luck with a bold new mission; now in its third year, the casino is embracing eSports and is the first in the world, we believe, with its
own dedicated eSports area on the gaming floor. That’s not the only thing that sets Downtown Grand apart though, as Casino International found out when meeting Seth Schorr, CEO of Fifth Street Gaming and Chairman of Downtown Grand Las Vegas.

off Fremont Street and the feeling here is really quite unlike the Strip – what makes the Downtown Grand special, do you think? Seth Schorr: We’re a new hotel and we are just into our third year, so we have new slot product, which is important to us. To have the right machines, the most popular titles, and our gaming floor is purposefully a
boutique and intimate size. We felt that after seeing the growth over the past couple of decades of the amazing mega-resort, we wanted to do something that complemented that experience, something different. To create a boutique, intimate environment that is easy to get in and out of; on the casino floor there are four egress and ingress points in and out of the casino. After we opened, we opened up a brick wall into six more doors right out into the street, so we could get some sunlight in. Our steak house is closer than any Strip property’s
