on slots were a more important factor for AMD. He told CI: “Where we tend to have value is more on the GPU (graphics processing unit) side, the ability to drive multiple displays, 4k et cetera, from a single processor. Slots are now looking for 4k, they want to deliver 3D graphics, it’s more computing-intensive on the graphics side. We see the market evolving and the opportunity for things to change. So you may be sitting at a machine with, for example, five 4k displays, and some of those will have cameras on so they can track player behaviour and reactions – that requires computer capability.” AMD had two new product launches which

Cash Support

Sharing a stand with Casino International, Erik de Kat’s new company Cash Support enjoyed the heavy foot traffic that comes with one of the planet’s premier gaming events. He told CI: “It was a good show, despite having a small stand we discussed good business opportunities with new and existing customers , which give us high hopes for ICE 2017.” Erik had the company’s new device CTM- ONE on display, a kiosk solution for casinos of all sizes. Reactions were, he told us, very positive indeed. It’s a solid-looking machine, nice looking but clearly a functional piece of equipment at the same time; early impressions are that it will be a nice piece of kit for maintenance staff to work with too, and it’s an interesting price that is driving a great deal of interest for Erik and his colleagues. G2E is largely a show for the Americas, but

attracts many companies wishing to work in a global market, as Erik acknowledged, because international events are important to companies like Cash Support. “Since our market is global the G2E is important, and we will join more international events, like the Gambling Indaba in South Africa just after G2E which also was very successful.”

AMD AMD’s drive to continually improve their

products should be a call for game designers in the casino industry to push processors further and harder and ultimately, to create fantastic- looking games that wow customers. We asked Colin Cureton, Director of Product Management, whether the advent of skills-based machines might be a good thing for the company – and he put us right, pointing out that more displays, and higher quality displays,

they were shouting about at G2E, as Colin elaborated: “The other area we are excited about ties into the two products we have just launched, based on our Polaris architecture. In the consumer market, it’s pushed toward enabling virtual and augmented reality, so Oculus Rift and that kind of platform. We can see the opportunity for something like that to come into the casino gaming side at some point. They bring a level of graphics and multimedia capability in a power envelope that’s never been seen before in this market, and we are now able to let the game and system developers start thinking about things in a different way. “We are here visiting our customers,

promoting the two new devices, the new platforms. It’s been a successful show; one of our customers, IGT, in fact launched a platform based on one of our products this week too.”

ZYTRONIC DISPLAYS Zytronic, a leader in custom-designed

Projected Capacitive Technology (PCT), vertically integrates raw sheets of customizable cut or curved glass-up to one inch-with touch sensors. These sensors gather and forward data to the game’s computer. Zytronic may also print directly on durable

glass before installing the electrodes and lamination. The glass can withstand heat and cold while resisting scratches, severe impact and liquid spillages. On its 55” touch table (available up to 85”),

Zytronic featured ObjectViz object recognition. A curved touch screen incorporated its new force sensing technology to accurately differentiate between a hard and soft touch that simulates a cursor on a computer. The touch screens are camera-free and ignore non-conductive objects like pens or bags, but recognize specific physical markers-called Phymarks. For customers with visual disabilities, the soft

touch can trigger an audio confirmation of the selection. Braille dots may also be imprinted. Zytronic partnered with Diebold to develop Crypteria, a touch screen unit that allows

secure PIN-entry payment technology. With regulatory approval, players enter personal information for a “pay at the game” convenience. It meets Payment Card Industry (PCI) standards for card payments. Sales and Managing Director Ian Crosby said,

“Zytronic offers numerous innovations and require no minimum quantities. We manufacture in the U.K. and ship 95 percent of our products internationally to many global companies.”

OPTIMOVE Optimove of Tel Aviv, London and now New

York, is the developer of the leading Customer Marketing Cloud, which helps casinos maximize their customer relationship management. These segmented analyses have evolved from basic customer loyalty programs into comprehensive marketing strategies for customer retention. The Customer Cloud, used by more than 200 brands, currently forwards more than four billion targeted, personalized messages to 900 million-plus customers every year through email and social media. Sophisticated software retains data from land-

based casinos, separating it via multiple factors. Head of Marketing Amit Bivas says they apply predictive analytics, using any single “data bread crumb” to group players into micro segments with similarities. He claims Millennials accept this deep information marketing and feel ignored if not personally contacted. This technology only works to build a target

group in established casinos. Of 100 people in a test, isolating a control group has shown that the 80 percent with enhanced marketing has proven more profitable than the 20 percent control group that received nothing. The program measures the “uplift” of a marketing campaign. Optimove’s new Optibot Customer

Relationship Management (CRM) optimization bot is an industry first. It automates analysis and interpretation of customer marketing campaigns. Optimove can predict the market up to one year regarding player habits. “Optibot software provides insight to the

marketer for the target audience. It involves a lot of engineering as a recommendation engine,” says Bivas.

Cammegh With their trademark broad smiles, it’s hard

to picture any show being anything less than a great success for the Cammeghs, but G2E continues to exceed their expectations. This is thanks, Andrew Cammegh told CI, to their acquisition of a license to operate in Nevada. Andrew said: “It’s been a fantastic show; the reality is, from five or six years ago when we got our license out here (Nevada), we have grown our market share but by bit. This year, walking down the Strip, you go to the Aria,
