Beers celebrates Centenary with gala dinner
NMBS raises £12,000 for char ity
The annual NMBS Dinner Dance last month raised £12,000 for the buying so - ciety’’s two chosen industrys two chosen ind charities - The Rainy Day Trust and CRASH - thr ough a com - bination of table donations, for a prize draw sponsored by Makita to win a bundle of Ap - ple pr oducts.
Over 1000 people attended the dance which took place on Saturday October 22nd at the Gr osvenor House Hotel, London W1.
Guests repr esented a br oad spectrum of NMBS’ 1000+ mer chant members and its portfolio of over 600 building industry suppliers.
NMBS chairman, T im Al - len spoke to the assembled guests about the spirit of be- ing an independent mer chant which entails passion, purpose and the fr eedom to think and act a little differ ently. He also gave an update on NMBS cur - r ent trading performance. He also thanked those
NMBS suppliers who had gen- erously sponsor ed the even - ing, the NMBS management team for continuing to gr ow and develop the business over the last twelve months, and NMBS’ merchant members for their on-going support. Entertainment for the
evening was pr ovided by top r ecor ding artists Fleur East, Blake and The Northenettes who had guests packing the dance floor until the small hours.

suppliers & customers, was held at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral.
After a champagne
reception in the Lady Chapel, guests wer e led thr ough the main Cathedral by a candlelight procession.
Managing director Michael Beer led the welcome speech before Grace was said by Canon Richar d White. After dinner a thank
you address and toast was proposed by Paul Conboy befor e the main Speaker of the evening, adventurer br oadcaster & traveller Mr Ben Fogle, gave an inspiring, funny & informative speech. The evening entertainment continued with a 6 piece electric or chestra String Infusion.

Berry undertaking their first show garden. “A View of an Olive Tree”, was designed to embrace the Mediterranean theme of the show.
It picked up a total of four awards including the much coveted Best in Show, along with Best Large Garden, Best Theme of Show and Best Outside Garden.
Ice Blue chippings in both a 3-8mm and 20mm grade were just some of the products that were on display and complemented the overall Mediterranean theme.
The Ice Blue chippings were kindly donated by Long Rake Spar,, and formr, and form part of their platinum range of exclusive decorative aggregates.
