FEATURE REPORT PRODUCT NEWS set free vrf with off coil temperature control Titan
Titan Engineering has launched a Witt stainless steel oil drain vessel, the HDB3, which can also be used as an oil distribution vessel.
Managing director Don Belcher stated: “With the aid of other Witt equipment we can off er a package that collects oil from a surge drum or inter cooler and delivers this to the vessel, where it can be sent back to the compressor. With most ammonia systems it is drained away, but with the HDB3 we can put it through a fi lter and give it straight back to the compressor.” Another advantage of the HDB is that it does not require maintenance or insulation. It is normally suffi cient to use ambient heat to evaporate any liquid refrigerant that accumulates, but an electrical heater element can be fi tted to the thermowell if necessary. All required nozzles are incorporated into the HDB3. It can be installed suspended from above or supported from below by means of threaded mounting pads top and bottom, using standard mounting brackets. Total volume is 39l and useable volume 30l.

Vertiv
Vertiv has released an updated version of Trellis Power Insight, a data centre management application delivering widespread, centralised monitoring and control of uninterruptible power supply (UPS) systems and networked servers. The solution off ers a comprehensive set of alarms, notifi cations and automated actions, up to and now including controlled server shutdown. The software is included with Liebert UPS systems. Trellis Power Insight simplifi es management of today’s data centre environments with auto-discovery of new devices, compatibility and integration with a wide range of Liebert UPS systems, and control through the UPS on-unit, touch screen user interface. It can monitor up to 50 separate Liebert UPS systems and safely shut down up to thousands of connected servers in the event of an outage. Trellis Power Insight provides real-time trending data, including voltage and current. This is consolidated and viewed in customised dashboards to centralise management of all UPS systems. Existing users can update their software by visiting the software download page on the Vertiv website.

Williams
Williams has upgraded its range of Gem Multideck grab and go merchandisers, developing special aerofoils to improve energy effi ciency.
The aerofoils are mounted along the
front of the unit shelves and double as ticket strips. They are angled to trap cold air as it fl ows around the Multideck, redirecting it onto the shelf below. This saves energy and reduces ‘cold aisle syndrome’, with most of the cold air staying inside the display. This is especially important where runs of Multidecks are grouped together.
Field trials indicate that the aerofoils deliver reductions in energy use of up to 15% compared to the traditional ticket strip format. Williams also off ers improved panoramic glass side panels as an option on all its latest Multideck models. The panels are larger than in previous versions, off er an improved Energy Effi ciency Index and help maximise grab and go sales.
There are two Multideck ranges. The slim-line R Series is ideal for venues that are short of space, while the M Series is best for sites wanting maximum display area. The largest model off ers a 918l capacity. The R70 model has three shelves and a total capacity of 201 litres. The full range of Multidecks is available through distributors nationwide.

Siemens
Siemens Building Technologies off ers Symaro sensors for typical HVAC measurements and applications. Integrated self-monitoring and installation, and service mode, give energy- savings and cost-effi cient control for the HVAC plant.
Digital correction algorithms guarantee clear measurement signals and there is a reduced requirement for installation and cabling. The sensors automatically
compensate for changes in building occupancy, usage or plant characteristics.
Flexible temperature sensors with active and passive output signals can be quickly adapted to the situation, using a number of easily adjustable measurement ranges. Strap-on, immersion and cable sensors optimise control and make for short reaction times. Symaro humidity sensors feature long-term stability with accuracy and effi ciency. They also conform to the rigorous FDA and GMP guidelines and are fully certifi ed. The air quality sensors provide cost-effi cient solutions through infrared absorption measurement and self-calibration.
