FEATURE REPORT PRODUCT NEWS The latest product news from: Climalife

Climalife recognises the importance of lubricants for refrigeration compressors and HQ-POE are polyolester synthetic oils specially formulated for the lubrication of

cooling compressors.

The range consists of several diff erent viscosity grades from 22 to 220VG, intended

for acr applications that use HFC and HFO refrigerants. HQ-POE oils provide eff ective protection from wear caused to metals in installations, such as aluminium or stainless steel. Available in a range of viscosities to suit common use, it improves effi ciency and optimises the system’s lifespan. They are chemically and thermally stable at high temperature, but also have excellent properties at low temperatures. They meet the needs of air-conditioning and refrigeration applications, while ensuring that the oil returns to the compressor. Compressor lubrication reduces friction and wear and improves sealing during compression. The oil and refrigerant combination is crucial for correct and optimal system operation. www.climalife.co.uk

Cooltherm

Cooltherm has introduced Circlemiser. Geoclima’s new Circlemiser chiller is one of the most effi cient available, off ering an increase in EER of up to 15%. The unique technology comes in the form of special cylinder condensers and cascade fl ooded evaporators. The range uses microchannel condensers with the heat exchange surface increased by 45% compared to traditional condensers. The design enables increased heat exchange capacity, reducing condensing temperature and creating outstanding performance without altering the footprint of the chillers.

Comparing Circlemiser to traditional air-cooled Turbomiser chillers, at the same AHRI/Eurovent conditions and with the same number of compressors, model of compressors and capacity, Circlemiser records an EER increase of up to 9.5% with one compressor unit and 15% with multi-compressor units, with the highest achievable value of EER 4.35 The series is available for air cooled Turbomiser units with R134a and HFO-1234ze refrigerants.

Güntner Clivet

Clivet’s range is expanding with Sphera, air-water heat pumps in two sections dedicated to single and multi-family houses with low, medium and high- energy consumption. Sphera is able to achieve the highest effi ciency values on the market. Advanced optimization algorithms and accurate dimensioning of the heat pump allow use in extreme conditions of up to -20°C of outdoor air temperature in heating; 46°C of outdoor air temperature in cooling; and from -20°C to 43°C for domestic hot water production. Models include the Sphera-T Comfort and Sphera-T Hybrid, which have an outdoor condensing unit with inverter modulating compressor and tower unit with hydronic module and 280 sanitary storage. The Sphera-i Comfort and Sphera-i Hybrid feature a recessed unit with hydronic module and 150l sanitary storage. The Sphera-B Comfort has an indoor unit BOX version with hydronic module and can be connected to domestic hot water storage. Each meets diff erent plant requirements. www.clivet.com

Güntner’s V-Shape Compact units are available as fl uid cooler, condenser and gas cooler and off er maximum capacity on a remarkably small footprint operated in dry mode. The optional HydroPad humidifi cation pad for adiabatic pre-cooling allows for operating refrigerating plants more effi ciently, without water treatment, intense maintenance works or wetting of the coil. A Hydro Management GHM pad decides continuously whether applying water or increasing fan speed is more cost-eff ective. Each heat exchanger is specifi cally designed for the fl uid HFC, CO2

water/glycol mixture. Core tube diameters and materials give the best combination of maximum capacity and minimum tube volume. The HydroPad pre-cooling system off ers substantial savings. The wetting system increases the capacity of the unit and allows for more effi cient operation. The V-Shape Compact gas cooler with HydroPad system pushes the CO2

equator southwards, and the adiabatic pre-

cooling of the ambient inlet air reduces the transcritical operating times.
