off ers automatic fi lter cleaning for VRV and Split air conditioning units, and has been designed specifi cally for hotels, offi ces and residential applications.
Only 200mm deep, the accessory is attached to the back of the duct unit and eff ectively hidden from view.
Preventing dust gathering on indoor-ducted
unit fi lters, the accessory collects debris into a dust box. The box can be emptied with a standard vacuum cleaner to ensure the fi lter remains dust- free and onsite maintenance needs are minimal. Off ering energy savings of up to 20%, a weekly auto-clean can provide tangible end-user savings, reducing both energy consumption and cleaning time.
To allow the system to run at its optimum
effi ciency, the dust box should be emptied using a vacuum cleaner every two to three months. Completed in just minutes, with minimal
disruption, the suction port can be located in a convenient location up to 1.7m from the duct. Furthermore, using the accessory also results in both the inlet and outlet grills being kept much cleaner.
For the fi rst trial in the UK, the auto-cleaning duct was installed on a bedroom fan coil unit at the IHG group’s new three-storey Holiday Inn Express at St Albans, as part of the hotel’s Daikin VRV IV heat recovery system.
