New partnerships, new insights


The HVAC & Refrigeration Show, taking place at ExCeL London from 2325 January 2018 is set to shine a spotlight ‘well buildings’ as part of its highly anticipated, Industry Insight series


Oering a wide range of services to help companies improve the design, build and operaon of buildings, memberbased associaon BSRIA has announced itself as an ‘ocial supporter’ of The HVAC & Refrigeraon Show, with building sustainability engineer Dr Michelle AghaHossein also speaking at the event. In addion to leading companies exhibing top brand


products, visitors will benet from a number of excing feature areas, including the new Industry Insight Series, a threeday series of live talks and discussions on future industry issues, presented by a panel of guest speakers. BSRIA’s Dr Michelle AghaHossein will present on how a building can be measured for ‘wellness’ and its impact on the ‘wellness’ of the occupants. There are new wellbeing measurement methodologies entering the market place and it is the “buzz word” in workplace management circles.


Michelle is an engineer and a researcher with


experience in building performance evaluaon in terms of energy consumpon, indoor environmental quality and occupants’ sasfacon and producvity. She completed her doctorate degree in 2014. Her doctorate research project was focused on post occupancy evaluaon in oces. Michelle also has experience in designing lowrise buildings and construcon site management. Michelle joined BSRIA’s Sustainable Construcon


Group in July 2014 to provide consultancy services on Post Occupancy Evaluaon (POE) and other So Landings acvies. Michelle runs BSRIA’s So Landings Network and Buildings for Wellbeing Network and also sits on the CIBSE Intelligent Buildings Group Commiee. Graeme Owen, markeng services manager, BSRIA,

He advises the DECC, HMRC and HMT on technology markets and delivers the Energy Technology List on their behalf. He also advises Chinese Provincial governments and private clients on developing sustainable product markets. Paul’s experse includes technology strategy, energy


eciency, and market transformaon through directed technology innovaon. Also conrmed is Simon Wya, partner at Cundall, an


internaonal muldisciplinary consultancy operang from over 20 locaons across the globe. He says: “Cundall is in a unique place as we currently have the only WELL Building Standard Cered oce in the UK and we are just about to cerfy the rst WELL Planum rated building outside of the US. She was part of the core team developing the new

health and wellbeing consultancy service at global consulng engineering rm Arup, and in 2017, joined the Internaonal WELL Building InstuteTM (IWBITM) – a public benet corporaon whose mission is to improve human health and wellbeing through the built environment. The HVAC & Refrigeraon Show is in talks with a further two high prole speakers to join the ‘Well Buildings’ discussion and will reveal their names in the coming weeks.


Going global The HVAC & Refrigeraon Show has forged a number


of media partnerships in its quest to spread the word about the UK’s leading role in the global HVACR market. One such partnership is with the highly respected Japanese Air Condioning News (JARN).
