The low-charge ammonia Azanefreezer 2.0, engineered by Star Refrigeration, off ers a sustainable and highly effi cient solution for low-temperature storage and food processing. It exceeds the UK’s ‘best practice’ performance benchmarks, achieving up to 66% energy savings.
With a design life of 25+ years, the modular, plug-and-play design allows for quick and fl exible installation, whether on the ground or rooftop. It can be easily transferred and repositioned between diff erent locations. This feature increases the system’s resale value, eff ectively transforming it into a valuable asset. With capacities ranging from 100kW to over 650kW and
temperatures from -18°C to -40°C, Azanefreezer 2.0 is versatile, suitable for a wide range of applications, from cold stores to food processing, including blast and spiral freezers. Its ultra-low refrigerant charge of just 0.52 kg/kW – up to 96% lower than traditional systems – minimises refrigerant usage and environmental impact, while simplifying installation and maintenance.
The system is designed with an integrated air-cooled condenser, eliminating the need for water and chemicals typically required in evaporative systems. This not only reduces maintenance costs but also enhances system reliability. Additionally, integration with Star’s AI- driven, data-led energy optimisation system, Ethos, ensures the freezer’s continuous performance and sustainability.
