20HP Coldchain Refrigeration Condensing Units from Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions
hese units incorporate R744 (CO2) refrigerant, meeting the demands of new environmental legislation. A standout feature that contributed to the win is the unit’s
two-stage rotary compressor, which offers an operating range of 30- 120Hz. This capability ensures high seasonal efficiency and reliability, even under extreme conditions. By alternating compressor operations every 10 days to distribute the load evenly, the system demonstrates thoughtful engineering to enhance efficiency and longevity. The judges commended the range’s practicality and usefulness, particularly noting a successful UK installation that showcases its adaptability to diverse refrigeration applications.

Dunstaple Farm by Keep it Cool Refrigeration and Panasonic Heating & Cooling Solutions
his project earned the award for its approach to addressing the client’s unique challenges while exceeding
expectations in both performance and execution. The judges particularly applauded the creative and efficient solution. Farmer Tom’s ambitious goal of revolutionising
his refrigeration system to reduce freezing time and enhance production effi ciency was met with a game-changing design. The system was customised to operate at -30°C instead of the standard -20°C, a strategic adjustment that
signifi cantly increased the heat transfer rate. This halved the freezing time, enabling ice cream production to be completed in six hours.
The collaboration with Neil McCourt
from Keep It Cool was instrumental to the project’s success. His expertise and innovative thinking brought to life the design, centring around the 20hp Panasonic CO2 refrigeration system paired with a high-performance Lu-Ve evaporator.
