LG
LG has become one of the fi rst manufacturers in the UK marketplace to launch an air conditioning range operating on R32 refrigerant with the launch of its Single Splits and Multi Split Smart Inverter products. The products off er excellent energy effi ciency, high operation reliability, a comfortable environment, a number of new convenient functions – some of which are industry fi rsts – and the use of R32 as the refrigerant, off ering huge benefi ts over the R410A refrigerant that has been utilised in previous model ranges. The new LG range line-up off ers external units from 4.1kW up to 18.7kW and internal units that include its already popular Artcool Mirror, Deluxe, Standard and Standard Plus wall units, as well as the 4-way Ceiling Cassette and design winning Ceiling Suspended units and its Ceiling Concealed Duct units.
The range achieves world-class low energy consumption levels, with SEER values up to 8.50 for the 4.1kW, 5.3kW and 6.2kW outdoor units. The units utilise a Brushless Direct Current Motor which off ers additional energy savings of up to 40% at lower speeds.

Hubbard
Hubbard Systems has launched two new ice dispensers from Scotsman. The DXN models replace the popular TC180 dispenser and off er a choice of capacities, combining a hygienic touchpad control, big production capacities and a compact tabletop design.
The largest model is the DXN 207 ice dispenser with a footprint of 427mm x 553mm x 769mm, storing 200 servings and making up to 110kg of ice per day. The smaller DXN 107 can deliver 100 serves at peak times and make 72kg of ice per day. It has the same footprint as the DXN 207 but is only 619mm high.
Both DXN models dispense cubelet ice, which minimises water use. The models are made of stainless steel and have a simple and minimalist facia, with a large, black touchpad screen featuring blue icons. The DXN’s plain facia makes it easy to customise with a vinyl wrap. The new DXN models are available with R290 propane refrigerant.

Trane Toshiba
Field staff at Toshiba Air Conditioning are bringing a new level of safety to customer sites with a near-miss reporting tool, helping to reduce the risk of accidents and injuries in the United
Kingdom and improving safety for employees, customers and the public. A near-miss occurs when an unplanned event results in no injuries or damage, but has the potential to do so. Toshiba’s new online reporting tool provides instant data on issues as they happen, without relying on engineers returning to the offi ce with paper forms, which can be time- consuming, involve delays, and make it diffi cult to spot patterns over time.
The new tool enables fi eld staff to report incidents instantly by mobile phone or laptop onsite, in real time. Once logged, the near- miss is visible and traceable and requires action to be taken, including a thorough and timely investigation or escalation to superiors, if necessary.
. The tool is now in use by all engineers and staff at Toshiba businesses in the UK.

Trane has introduced Balance CMAC, the next generation multi-pipe HVAC system for simultaneous heating and cooling. Trane Balance can be confi gured in more than 100 diff erent ways for multifunctional buildings like large offi ce buildings, hospitals, theatres and hotels that need simultaneous heating and cooling in diff erent areas.
It uses renewable energy and can repurpose energy rejected from the compressor during cooling to heat buildings. Energy is recovered through a simplifi ed multi-pipe unit that simultaneously delivers hot and chilled water, versus a separate boiler and chiller. This reduces investment costs, use of fl oor space and total operating expenses while improving the sustainability of operations for the building owner.
Additional sustainability benefi ts from the Trane Balance system comes from the fact that the energy is distributed through water, versus refrigerant, reducing refrigerant piping and risk of leakage. It is also one of the fi rst multi-pipe units on the market to earn Eurovent certifi cation, which is a voluntary industry performance standard certifying the performance ratings of air-conditioning and refrigeration products.
