PRODUCT SNAPSHOT

Samsung unveils a slew of new products

Samsung has launched an extended range of Wind-Free products and a new 3pipe Mini VRF in the UK and Ireland.

S

amsung’s Wind-Free technology maintains temperature without any direct air fl ow and is now featured on 4-way and 1-way cassettes. After reaching the desired temperature in normal cooling mode, the Wind-Free cassettes then maintain it by gently dispersing cool and still air through 21,000 micro air holes for a natural cooling eff ect using Wind- Free technology. Air velocity that is below 0.15 m/s is considered ‘still air’ as defi ned by ASHRAE 55-2013, and Wind-Free units deliver less than 0.15 m/s.

Perry Jackson, head of air conditioning at Samsung said: “Samsung is fi rmly positioning itself as the industry leader in heating and cooling innovation. We’re expecting 2018 to be an exciting year for the company and expect to make our mark on the industry with our acclaimed Wind-Free technology.” The Wind-Free 4-way cassettes are available as split systems and VRF indoor units, in both mini (600mm x 600mm) and standard size cassette styles, in variable capacities. Also launched is a new small-capacity 3pipe Mini VRF. The DVM S Eco HR can simultaneously operate cooling and heating in homes or small commercial offi ces.

It is also 54% smaller than an equivalent 8HP model, and at 98kg weighs less than half, making it a more fl exible system. At launch the systems are available in 11.2, 14 and 15.5kW capacities for use on both 1-phase and 3-phase power supplies.
