TF Solutions joins Mitsubishi Electric network


M


itsubishi Electric has added TF Solutions to its family of sales partners as a Value Added Reseller (VAR), expanding the firm’s coverage within the UK market. Managing director of TF Solutions, Andy Cherrill, said: “Our mission is to work together for success and this principle has allowed us to remain a vital part of our customers’ successes over the past 18 years. We see this new association with Mitsubishi Electric as continuing on that path towards success by allowing us to offer our customers the very best products available.”


TF Solutions began trading in 2001 and has experienced significant levels of growth, now making it one of the leading acr distributors in the UK. The company operates out of four branches in the North West, Yorkshire, Midlands and South East, with a fifth soon to open in the South


West.


“The team at TF Solutions are dedicated to the highest levels of customer service and support, which matches our own demand for high standards in all we do,” said Deane Flint, branch vice president and joint divisional manager for Mitsubishi Electric.


TF Solutions will offer the complete range of Mitsubishi Electric products including City Multi, Mr Slim and M-Series air conditioning, Lossnay ventilation and controls products, as well as heating products, air handling units and and e-series chillers.


Mr Cherrill added: “Mitsubishi Electric is a pioneer in the UK HVAC market with products that deliver energy efficient solutions for almost any situation. We are delighted to now be part of the family and look forward to enhancing the service we can offer our own customers.”


Blended Products acquires Triple A

lended Products has announced the business and asset acquisition of Agricultural Anhydrous Ammonia, better known in the industry as Triple A. Triple A supplies bulk tanker deliveries of anhydrous ammonia, as well as undertaking planned and emergency decant services. Blended Products managing director Alex Robinson said: “Triple A is an established, widely known company in a sector of the industry we have considered entering for some time. “This acquisition will enable us to expand our product offering and services to our existing customer base whilst providing new opportunities to further grow our business. Both businesses are well aligned, and we expect a seamless transition for Triple A to new ownership.


“Having recently celebrated not only Blended Products’ 15th anniversary but also our best year of trading, this acquisition represents a fantastic start to 2019 and we are looking forward to a strong, exciting year ahead.”


Ziehl-Abegg sees major global sales growth M


otor and fan manufacturer Ziehl- Abegg has reported another year of higher than average growth,


increasing sales by 8.1 percent to 584 million euros compared with 540 million in the previous year.


The sales figures are being driven mainly by the strong growth of the fan business in the ventilation technology sector. The company, based in Southern Germany, has once again succeeded in growing sales organically, without any acquisitions.


The commencement of in-house composite material production in the Hohenlohe Business Park, Germany represents a milestone in the company’s history. Highly sophisticated tools enable it to achieve complex geometries in synthetic material fans.


“This enables us to improve the way we transfer knowledge from the natural world to our products,” says chief executive Peter Fenkl, explaining the company’s bionic approach. According to Mr Fenkl, “bionics help


us to further improve our products’ carbon footprint”.


One of the benefits for customers is that Ziehl-Abegg offers three technologies in- house: steel, aluminum and composite material. Mr Fenkl adds: “We are seeing two effects. In emerging countries, the impetus is coming from new building construction, whereas in countries like Germany, sales are shifting to the retrofitting and improvement of existing plants in old buildings. This applies to both ventilation and drive technology. In drive technology, the sales driver is the ZAtop elevator drive. Customers appreciate the reliability of the products as well as our quick and straightforward service.”


The signs for sales of the electric in-wheel hub drive for city buses, ZAwheel, are positive. However, in the past year, the pace of growth fell short of expectations.


However, Mr Fenkl explains: “The market is responding so well to the new generation, with two power levels and an integrated control


module, that we have revised our forecasts for 2019 upwards.”


One prime example is double-decker buses which are used for city tours in Paris, London, Amsterdam and Berlin.


The independent suspension for the gearless ZAwheel electric motor, which was unveiled at the IAA Commercial Vehicles in September 2018, has also made the application very attractive for other commercial vehicles.


Mr Fenkl says: “The timelines in the automotive sector are different from those in conventional mechanical engineering.” While turnover might not therefore increase as fast as in the fan business, there has been considerable interest shown by leading commercial vehicle manufacturers.


The growth in sales has also had an impact on employee numbers, with the workforce in Germany having risen from 2,200 to 2,250. Ziehl-Abegg now employs 4,100 people worldwide.
