NEWS ACR News Awards 2019 finalists T
he finalists for the 2019 ACR News Awards have now been unveiled ahead of the most hotly anticipated event on the cooling calendar.
In a two-part process, your industry votes decided who would make it through to the final in the ‘voted for’ categories, while a panel of top industry experts deliberated over the entries in the judged categories. The winners are set to be announced on 21 March during a glittering ACR News Awards ceremony, this time being held at The Tower Hotel which overlooks London’s iconic Tower Bridge. This year’s voting turn-out was the highest the Awards has seen in its history, with hundreds from across the sector going online to make sure their voices were heard.
Meanwhile, ACR News editor Lynn Sencicle chaired the independent judging panel which comprised Colin Goodwin, BSRIA’s technical director; Roger Borer, executive officer for the Building Controls Industry Association (BCIA); Graeme Fox, head of REFCOM and senior mechanical engineer at the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA); Martyn Cooper, commercial manager at the Federation of Environmental Trade Associations (FETA); and Richard Merritt of BESA.
There’s no denying that the past year has been testing for the sector. Regulations have tightened and the demand for ever greener and more efficient solutions has continued to rise – but the number of outstanding entries to the 2019 Awards cycle reflected how this adaptable industry has risen to meet these challenges head-on.
