ainsbury’s has rolled out its sixty minute Chop Chop service to 20 cities across the country,
bringing fast grocery deliveries by bike to customers outside of London for the first time.
Sainsbury’s has rolled out Chop Chop across London and trialled making deliveries from closed convenience stores for the first time. Learnings and customer feedback from the trial have been used to improve the service further as the offer expands to supermarkets in cities across the country.
M Once the 50-store roll out is
completed in mid-June, around 3.2 million households will be able to get Sainsbury’s groceries delivered directly to their door within an hour, offering customers who are self-isolating or less able to travel to stores another way to get what they need. The rapid expansion will support Sainsbury’s efforts to feed the nation and help meet unprecedented demand for home grocery deliveries.
Since the beginning of April,
orrisons has expan ded its food box offering with an extra large box of fruit
and veg to help customers access food more easily and to eat healthily during the lockdown.
The 11kg box will feature a
collection of fruit and veg favourites. Each box contains 135 portions of fruit and vegetables enabling a family to easily eat their five-a-day during the course of a week. The boxes are priced at £22 - which includes next-day delivery to the customer, which means that those people who are vulnerable, elderly or self-isolating do not need to leave their home.
Liz Taylor, Morrisons fruit & veg director said: “Our fruit and veg box contains a wide variety of affordable
and good quality fruit and veg. A family can simply order one box - and get all of the vegetables they need for healthy meals for the week. They can be ordered alongside other food boxes such as our Meat Box and Fish Box - that we’ve recently launched to play our full part in feeding the nation.”

par UK partner AF Blakemore has launched an online ordering website to make
it easier for customers to browse products from Spar stores offering home deliveries. Customers can view a range of circa 1,100 products across all categories, including fruit
and vegetables, bread, meat, dairy, drinks, snacks, alcohol, tobacco, and household goods.
The new online platform
complements the phone ordering options the SPAR UK partner has in place to help vulnerable shoppers during the pandemic.
To place an order, customers can log in or register at

co.uk, select their nearest store and start shopping. Once their order has been placed, their chosen store will give them a call, take payment over the phone, and arrange a convenient delivery slot.
“In recent weeks, SPAR stores have played a key role in local communities delivering essential groceries to those most in need,” said Blakemore retail managing director Matt Teague. “We hope that this new platform improves our home delivery service by making it easier for customers to see what products we have available without leaving their homes.”
Stores are aiming for same- day delivery and is aimed at all customers within two miles of participating stores.
