SkillFRIDGE 2018: All eyes on the prize

Sights set on the national final as regional heats come to a close

Over the past two months, the very best RACHP apprentices from across the UK have been battling it out in a series of regional competitions; demonstrating their exceptional skills, knowledge and passion for the industry in the hopes of securing a spot in the national final.

Regional heats took place at Bath College, Eastleigh College, the Practical Refrigeration Training Centre and Grimsby Institute and all of the competitors are now eagerly awaiting the announcement of the SkillFRIDGE 2018 national rankings – which will determine who will continue on in the competition. The top scoring competitor nationally will be invited to receive a special accolade from the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) at the National BESA Awards, taking place at the Park Plaza Victoria London on 1 November.

The six competitors that top the national rankings will take part in a series of rigorous training exercises lead by industry experts, in preparation for the SkillFRIDGE National Final. The final will be held at WorldSkills UK LIVE (formerly The Skills Show), organised by WorldSkills UK, from 15-17 November at the NEC Birmingham.
