t the beginning of March the Packaging Innovations,
Label&Print and Empack event returns to the NEC Birmingham, bringing a host of novel packaging solutions, while also addressing the growing concern of waste recycling and energy consumption. In this issue we have our event preview that highlights the various product ideas that companies will be bringing to life. Elsewhere, it seems that print inspection is a major
talking point across the industry at the moment, but more importantly, what the future holds for this technology. A company’s inspection systems need to be interconnected in order to share information and therefore work more efficiently. On top of this is the greater need for automated solutions. Operators’ capabilities can only stretch so far and when it comes to colour variations, for example, the original data input into an automated system will help to ensure a match rather than relying solely on the operator’s eye.
