Packaging Innovations 2017 Preview What’s on show this year?
PARKSIDE L45 The company will be hosting the Parkside Picnic at this year’s Packaging Innovations show, featuring Cadbury Chocolate Fingers, Wall’s sausage rolls and Seabrook Crisps. Parkside continues to tap into the on-the-go snacking market trend, with the launch of a range of convenience-driven solutions. Director of sales, Paula Birch, comments: “We
want to demonstrate our market insights, alongside our packaging expertise, and how we apply our manufacturing capabilities to develop new products that respond to the ever-changing needs of our customers and their consumers.
ELPLAST GROUP E19 The European manufacturer is showing its range of functional zippers, from single profile (SLX) with sound effect, through to triple (X3) and even quintuple (X5) with both sound and feel effect at Packaging Innovations this year. These zippers meet consumer expectations with easy to align and opening and closing cues incorporated into the design. An investment into new extrusion technology has
significantly improved Elplast’s flexibility to offer coloured zippers. Elplast Group president, Marcin Pawelak, explains: “Visitors to our stand will be presented with the options to include colour branded zippers for enhanced visual appeal, in conjunction with the food safety advantages that having a high visibility zipper can offer. “Eplast’s philosophy is to help brands take a lead and differentiate themselves from competitors and
our new range of highly functional zippers with colour options helps with this. We even have a rainbow zipper, because why not?”
CON-FEB17-PARKSIDE FLEXIBLES:CON-FEB17-PARKSIDE FLEXIBLES 30/01/2017 11:14 Page 1 “We’re really excited about showcasing our
latest designs and product development on stand in a picnic format, highlighting the true nature of convenience and on-the-go snacking today.” The Wall’s sausage rolls range includes a multi-
cavity pack, offering the option to snap off one of five individually wrapped trays as required, whilst keeping the remaining sausage rolls sealed for later. A similar style snack pack is used for the
Cadbury Chocolate Fingers. The ‘Snap & Go’ pack design comprises four 31g PP trays that feature a laser-perforated lid, allowing consumers to take one pack and keep the rest sealed.
In addition, Parkside worked with Seabrook
Crisps last year to create a new reclosable share bag. The new lasered pack enables consumers to peel open the front to share the contents and this feature helps to keep crisps fresher for longer.
ESSENTRA A51 This year will mark the one-year anniversary of Essentra’s Design Hub at Packaging Innovations. The complete range of cartons, labels, leaflets
and tear tapes showcase Essentra’s ability to incorporate both aesthetic vision and security solutions, producing eye-catching original packaging that also helps to combat counterfeiting. Products that will be on show include its Lotus Pack, Caprini Carton, Tea Carton and Honey Jar, which illustrate its extensive capabilities such as embossing, foiling and window patching, as well as tamper evident and Peel 2 Read labelling solutions. Essentra’s feature birthday cake will also be displayed to invite exhibitors to celebrate the Design Hub’s first anniversary. Continues over the page...
