Reel & Roll Handling

Equipment means less stress for the operator T

The Dotec RH90 (left) and the RH200 (right)

here are many operator benefits arising from Dotec’s LiſtAssist roll and reel handling equipment, including reduced process time, by avoiding manual unloading

and packaging; less intensive physical effort for the operator; and more efficient and safer handling. These all contribute towards lower process costs. At the heart of the systems is the design infrastructure. Aluminium

rails provide ultimate light and smooth movement while the rail profiles guarantee a rolling resistance of just under one per cent of the load being moved. Jib cranes incorporate a heavy-duty pivot bearing that allows smooth and free 360-degree rotation, perfect for short transfer applications, whilst end-stops limit the radius and, together with a parking brake, contribute to a safe way of ‘parking’. Other features include folding (Banjo) arms, incorporating patented

hinge points, and a choice of Super Light or Super Strong carbon- fibre arms, each offering a weight reduction of up to 68 per cent. Jarshire is the UK and Ireland supplier of Dotec equipment. Jarshire

director, David Jobson, says that interest in Dotec systems has grown strongly in the UK with installations eliciting positive feedback from users. Jobson will be welcoming customers to the Dotec stand (875) at ICE Europe 2017 where the RH90 and RH140 Roll Handler systems will be on show; these provide fast and efficient handling for roll production, as well as applications in slitting, rewinding, converting, printing and packaging processes.

New fully motorised attachment for handling film, foil and paper rolls T

he all new fully motorised vertical spindle attachment

from Packline Materials Handling has been designed to enable the handling, lifting and rotation of rolls of film, foil, paper and other packaging materials. The attachment is constructed from stainless steel and is suitable for the food and pharmaceutical industries as well as other hygienic clean room applications. The vertical spindle is fully

motorised. This feature provides powered drives for both the roll gripping and release as well as the roll rotation to and from the vertical to horizontal orientations. The control of these operations is made via buttons on the handheld ‘pendant’ control that provides easy operation and precise control. The rolls are securely gripped by

the core; this mechanism has a torque limiter fitted so that the clamping ‘fingers’ do not over or under tighten the roll, which provides the operator with complete confidence to lift and transport safely.

26 February 2017 The attachment features an

all-new design with enhanced durability, operating and safety features that provide a simple and safe operation. This roll handling

equipment is backed up by a full bespoke design service to ensure the right solution can be made to suit any make or size of roll. The lifting attachments are

fully interchangeable and can be easily fixed or removed from any model of Packline lifting machine that is fitted with the quick release system. The purpose-designed compact

framework, positioning of handlebars and addition of an optional remote control device provide improved manoeuvrability and ease of use for the operator. The small footprint makes this roll

handling equipment highly manoeuvrable and a good choice for today’s narrow production lines and demanding lifting requirements.
