pson’s SurePress digital label presses are gaining ground around the world as more and

more label converters are choosing them for their flexibility, performance and reliability. There are two models in the range: the aqueous SurePress L-4033AW and the UV SurePress L-6034VW, which made its commercial debut at drupa last year. The seven-colour SurePress L4033AW with aqueous ink is suitable for short-run, ultra-high quality label production on standard label substrates, without the need for pre-treatment, and ticks all the boxes for most converters. The inkset includes white (which can be printed first or last), green and orange to help deliver a wide

these presses to service its growing web-to-print business. The company offers over 10,000 combinations of labels in its Peterborough, UK factory in over 50 material choices and over 200 shapes and sizes. They chose the press as the perfect tool to fulfil the fast turnaround orders they receive and to drive business growth. On the other hand, the SurePress L-6034VW

features Epson’s PrecisionCore lineheads, LED- cured UV pigment ink with digital varnish technology and white ink for consistent, high- value and durable labels. It prints on a wide range of papers, including uncoated, and a variety of film, coloured and metallic materials and can

print fine text and lines. The popularity of this press with specialist converters is that it is a very flexible and productive device (98 per cent uptime experienced by users to date). The ability to print digital varnish, inline, is very popular and allows users to produce a variety of embellished effects – from flood coating, to spot varnish effects, matte and high gloss. Superfast Labels in Sittingbourne, UK was the first company to install a SurePress L6034 press in the UK. The company already has two SurePress L- 4033 presses and the trio enable the company to print a huge variety of labels. “I have the freedom to choose which press is

best for each job and since it started production in January, the L6034 has been working virtually non-stop,” says MD Andy Millar. “It has printed approaching seven million labels already. The in- line spot varnish is a fantastic feature as it allows me to produce superb embellishment effects and it is proving very popular with customers.” Says Guy Martin, Epson UK: “The label industry

is diverse which is why we offer a choice of production solutions – both of which deliver high quality, reliability and the best all round return on investment. Epson excels at high-quality inkjet imaging and our strategy is to meet the industry’s needs now and anticipate and adapt to these needs as they change.” www.epson.co.uk
