vmgl.com bleisure? I
was tempted to fi ll this page with inspirational quotes from famous entrepreneurs. I wanted to pack the page with quips and notions from businessmen and women who have made a name in politics. Something to boost morale in a time of uncertainty, after history was made on June 23 2016, and Britain voted to leave the European Union. A topic of much discussion at Business Franchise HQ, what we wanted to know was: how will it aff ect business? And, will this dramatically change the market? The decision poses an endless stream of questions. But, with nobody able to off er defi nitive answers, we should reassure our European cousins that we are open to trade and continue to travel for ‘bleisure’. Yes, that’s right, ‘bleisure’. A recent study revealed that, on average, British employees are now spending fi ve days a month travelling with work, hence the term ‘bleisure traveller’.* The research revealed that 26 per cent of employees would change their working hours when travelling for business trips to take full advantage of what the destination has to off er.
Studies show that ‘bleisure’ goes much further than just a trend. A balance of work and leisure is what we crave, and the fl exibility to travel and enjoy our lives while earning a living is important to us.
This happy work-life balance is something franchising produces in bucketloads. Investing in a franchise will, in turn, allow you the fl exibility to enjoy the important things in life.
So, this month, we chatted to eight franchisees that have taken on businesses that off er fl exibility, allowing each of them to pursue the things that are important, like travel.
Keeping optimistic about the fi nancial market is paramount in a time of political ambiguity, so investing in a tried-and- tested model is something that could off er you stability as well as fl exibilty. If you’re still unsure, make sure you turn to page 50 for expert advice on entering into a franchise opportunity in the current political climate. I’ll leave you with the words of the fi rst female prime minister of Pakistan, Benazir Bhutto: “Empowerment is the right to have the opportunity to select a productive career; to own property; to participate in business; to fl ourish in the market place.”
