Irving, Texas-based The LaSalle Group, announced the promotion of John Barbee to president of the company and the election of Jessica Akaah as vice chairman of the board of


directors. Barbee will lead the company’s stra- tegic business and financial partnerships and will continue to manage LaSalle’s develop- ment, construction, and design divisions. Akaah had previously served as LaSalle’s se- nior vice president of management; in her new role, she will be responsible for broaden- ing the board’s membership.


Based in Denver, Colorado, Spectrum Retire- ment Communities, announced Bradley Kraus as the company’s president and chief opera- tions officer; Kraus most recently served as senior vice president of business development. He will oversee all aspects of the company’s op- erations at its 33 communities across 12 states.


Ventas announced that the company’s chair- man and chief executive officer, Debra Cafaro, was honored by Modern Healthcare as one of their “Top 25 Women in Healthcare”. Cafaro was also recently named to Modern Healthcare’s list of the Top 100 People in Healthcare.
