Improved and more effective care for those with Alzheimer’s and other dementias will lead to better relationships between the industry and consumers, policy makers, and regulators and create new business opportunities with investors and health care sector partners.
1. Quality Standards
Goal: Enhance quality by promoting standards in memory care This goal will include the ability to develop and train a workforce with the skills necessary to provide quality care for residents needing memory care support, establish memory care standards including resident care and program- ming guidelines, and improve safe and effective transitions for residents between care levels.
2. Awareness and Advocacy Goal: Develop platforms for training and education to enhance industry awareness and advocacy in memory care This goal will include educating the senior living industry about Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, working with national and international organizations to improve coordi- nation and identify model initiatives to advance awareness and readiness, and educate govern- ment agencies on memory care in senior living.
3. Best Practices and Innovation Goal: Increase best practice utilization and innovation in memory care This goal will include conducting research and studies on innovation in memory care, promoting innovation, and sharing inno- vation best practices with senior living and memory care professionals. “Identifying, highlighting and sharing
memory care innovations is an important step toward elevating the collective under- standing of providing optimum care for residents with cognitive impairments,” said Nadelstumph. Argentum members are committed to

ARGENTUM QUARTERLY
The inaugural issue of Argentum Quarterly includes research on topics born from the Argentum memory care committee. For example, as part of the Senior Living Innovation Series: Memory Care, the “Idea to Implementation” report builds upon Argentum committee research by focusing on six innovations chosen based on the programs’ effectiveness, ability to be widely implemented, and how well they addressed the top needs expressed among those leading in senior living.
