Whale ensures ‘a better service’ all round

Whale Tankers has supplied a new 18 tonne VacuumWhale to A Better Service Ltd, which has been specified and built by the Ravenshaw, Solihull, based company.

Set to be deployed predominantly in the south east region, the new tanker will be handling a range of services that will include the emptying of septic tanks and cesspools and drain blockage clearance.

The vehicle is an 18 tonne, non-hazardous vacuum tanker with jetting and is fitted with a Mistral vacuum system. Manufactured from stainless steel, the tanker is built on a Daf 4 x 2 Euro VI chassis. The capacity is 2,200 gallons in total, made up of 2,000 gallons of waste plus 200 gallons of clean water.

Gary Bicknell, Director for A Better Service, said: “We’ve been working with the team at Ravenshaw for many years now, as far back as the 1980s and currently 75% of our tanker fleet is Whale. We had no hesitation in turning to them again when we needed to order a new vehicle, as the build quality and operational performance is second to none.

“After sales service and back-up is also critically important to our business - a vehicle out of action is not something any operation such as ours wants or needs. Whale’s service team covers everything from technical and electronic servicing and support through to specialist repairs. They have experienced workshop based engineers available on the end of the phone should we need them, often ensuring a quick and easy solution without the need for a call out. This service offering played a key part in our purchase decision making.”

Chris Anderson, Commercial Director for Whale Tankers, said: “We’re pleased once again to be working with A Better Service and supplying them with this latest state-of-the-art VacuumWhale.”

Additional features on the tanker include an audible reversing alert, full reversing camera and an electrically heated hand wash unit. An LED cycle board and cyclist protection system all are also fitted.

Reading based A Better Service is a waste management company which operates in Berkshire, Surrey, Middlesex, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire and has regional depots in Slough, High Wycombe, Oxford, Newbury, Basingstoke and Bracknell. Services include waste disposal and removal, waste management, tankers and liquid waste disposal to name but a few.
