Run-off from the final holding tank area was then taken off via a small diameter pipe which led into an Ultra Urban Filter which contained the Naylor Smart Sponge® element of the process. The hydrocarbon and heavy metal elements of the water flow were thereby removed before the water entered a final holding tank from which it could be recycled often for re-use by the road sweeper trucks, negating the need for new drinking water to be used.

CD Enviro offers a variety of products including the S:MAX, a high efficiency liquid screening system that uses unpressurised vibrating platform screens to protect all downstream assets by removing problem materials such as rags and grit. The S:MAX G uses vibrating platform screen technology for maximum grit recovery from wastewater. The S:MAX G is present at the pre-treatment stage. By discharging directly onto the S:MAX G screen, a buffer tank is no longer required. The S:MAX G can easily accommodate both indigenous sludge and imported sludge. Similarly, the company’s D:MAX is a mobile screening and classification system which efficiently removes grit, rag and other troublesome solids from a waste stream. The company also offers

other treatment units including the MSU:10, G:MAX, PRO:DEC, HYDRO:GRADE, HYDRO:FLO, CO:FLO, Decanter and the HI:FLO Dewatering Unit. Most of the CD Enviro units are used for separating solids from liquid with the possibility to recycle the recovered solids for various applications. The latter HI:FLO Dewatering Unit is designed to quickly treat high water flow rates in applications where low to medium concentrations of solids, from 0.8 mm upwards in size, are required to be quickly and efficiently removed from water, to allow its reuse or discharge. Performance features like polyurethane and rubber linings protect the unit from wear and are quick and easy to replace, minimising the time required for essential inspection and maintenance.
