Are you ready for more consistency in your golf game this year? The key is to have a good game improvement plan. When you dedicate time to practicing golf, it is very important to have a plan of action that is productive. Afterall, practice does not make perfect… Perfect practice makes perfect! But, nobody is perfect, right? And we all know that golf is not a game of perfect. Golf is a game of misses. So, with a good plan of action, the misses can be minimized. Good shots can come more frequently. And you can strive to achieve consistency in your game.
with consistency. This is the time for a deep breath and a calm thought. Slowing down the routine will get your swing under control. A few seconds of focused time prior to hitting your golf shot helps the confi dence.
3. Budget time to practice. Knowing what to practice helps.
Making time to practice it helps even more! The biggest excuse for having problems with your golf game is having problems making time to practice. A commitment to a regular practice routine will help the mind and body focus on necessary improvements. Make time to take time to exercise your golf game improvement plan.
4. Schedule regular rounds of golf.

Experience a video analysis of your golf swing. Get custom fi t for a set of golf clubs that is right for you. Seek advice on what areas of your game to sharpen. Strive to improve your putting, chipping, pitching and bunker- shots. Work on your iron play and driving the ball. Have your PGA golf pro recommend the proper amount of time to practice regularly. Playing golf on a regular basis is good for your health, physically and men- tally! As you play, always keep your statistics, hole by hole, as you keep your score. The number of fairways that you hit off the tee is an important stat that will help you understand your driving accuracy. The number of greens that you hit in regulation will help you understand your approach shot con- sistency. And, of course, keeping track of how many putts you have per hole will motivate you to improve your short game. These statistics should be kept on your scorecard and should be shared with your golf professional at every lesson.
In order to improve your golf game consistency this year, stick to the golf
game improvement plan. Work with your PGA golf instructor on a regular basis. Work on the tempo and rhythm of your golf swing. Rhythm is impor- tant with every club, but the driver is often the club that is swung too hard and throws the tempo off for the entire game. This can happen on the very fi rst hole and can affect the rest of the round. People try to hit the driver as far as they can. This is the club that should be swung at 75% in order to get a centered hit. Remember, you don’t have to swing hard to hit it far. But you do have to swing with good tempo in order to have a centered hit. The more centered the hit, the further the ball goes. Learning this discipline gives every player a level of control. Comfort and control are crucial to the success of your golf game. These elements make you relaxed and confi dent. Playing more confi dently will ultimately increase your consistency.
