Lawrence wins Greene Hills Invitational


Two-time Virginia State High School champion Mark Lawrence Jr shot 70-70 to win the Greene Hills Invitational at the Greene Hills Club in Stan- ardsville. Lawrence, who plays out of Hermitage CC and is a senior at Mills Godwin High in Richmond, topped Fredericksburg resident Jon Hurst by one shot. Jeff Toms of Charlottesville and Buck Brittain of Tazewell, fi nished tied for third while Logan Yates, who plays out of Greene Hills, rounded out the top fi ve. Jerry Burton, who plays out

Serrao-Sleeker open RGA season


with Broach Memorial title Steve Serrao and Alex Sleeker shot 69-68 at the Federal Club to win the Nelson Broach Memorial, the opening tournament of the Richmond Golf Association’s tournament season. Serrao-Sleeker stormed back from a four-shot defi cit after their opening round fourball score of 69 found them four shots back of Larry Loving and Scott Campbell, who opened with a 65. But Loving and Campbell struggled in the second round
