Traity needs to talk about Kevin
chatbot for P2P transactions, called Kevin, which taps into blockchain technology. This has been developed with Australian FI Suncorp, with another product set for launch in the next few months. In a post on the company’s blog, Founder and CEO, Juan Cartagena, says: “Kevin could change the way we transact with one another…Millions of transactions happen between strangers every day. Most of them work out really well, but the small percentage of scams make people fear strangers. Kevin will bring confidence to people buying, selling and renting from one another, to “insure the internet.”

The service takes the reputation of both users, and if both are good, it creates a transaction on blockchain to timestamp that they have agreed to it. This buys Bitcoin to cover the liabilities in Traity’s Blockchain Balance Sheet and timestamps the reputation review. If things go well, both gain five star reputations. If a scam occurs, users can make a claim to Kevin.

Nordea Liv in social savings initiative
FinTech, Spiff, to develop a social savings app. A pilot, involving a selected group of users, will be launched in the near future, with a full launch set for the summer. “Our aim is to lower the bar and make it easier for everybody to save by offering them the most innovative, efficient and user- friendly saving and investment platform,” says Carl-Nicolai Wessmann, Founder and CEO of Spiff.

“Spiff offers us a new approach to saving that is easy, fun and social. It is more important than ever to save, especially now that individuals are made responsible for their own pensions,” adds Randi Marjamaa, CEO of Nordea Liv. “Being able to work together with a Norwegian startup and

buying train tickets from a stranger you met on Craigslist. Explain the transaction and Kevin will send you a unique link. Send this link to your counterpart, and once that person gets approved, your P2P transaction is insured, for up to $100 against fraud, theft, scams, etc. absolutely for free,” says Cartagena. “$100 may not sound like much, but it covers most of the transactions online. Furthermore, we think that this is not just about insurance but about prevention. Users who buy and sell through Kevin will be subject to reputation, and scammers will simply try to avoid it, so we are likely to see a low level of scams, just because scammers tend to prefer to be anonymous.”
