that would enable a bank to launch and operate at a fraction of the cost of traditional software systems, enable them to access their data and also help them to integrate third party products and services that ultimately make a bank future proofed.”

Wealthify

The UK startup aims to transform one million savers into efficient investors within the next decade. It provides a user-friendly online platform which allows customers to access investment funds with lower fees and greater returns.

Users can juggle a “long-term, low-risk saving plan with exceptional growth” for the initial sum of £250; funds are invested globally and spread thinly. Discretionary wealth-management allows users to choose a suitable portfolio with streamlined services. Given that cash ISAs are sinking steadily, Wealthify optimises asset allocation decisions using a proprietary algorithm building confidence in its customers.

EyeVerify

EyeVerify’s demoed product, Eyeprint ID, is a patented software-only biometric offering, pitched as a 99.9% accurate and scalable solution that transforms an ordinary selfie into a key for password- free mobility. Using an Eyeprint is secure as it can never be lost, stolen or intercepted as it is both encrypted and scrambled.

Final thoughts and Best of Show winners

IoT, biometrics, RegTech and blockchain (natch) dominated FinovateEurope 2017. PSD2 reared its head on numerous occasions, with the general consensus being that it represents an opportunity, rather than a threat for banks.

After two days of pitches, meanwhile, the audience voted and the Best of Show winners were announced. Take a bow Backbase, Crealogix, Dorsum, eToro, Memento, SaleMove and Tink. Further info at: www.finovate.com

It uses existing 1+MP front facing cameras to match the visible vein patterns and unique micro features in and around the eye; one look can open your mobile devices, log you into apps and secure payments.
