compounds for East Anglia ONE and two future projects within the East Anglia Zone. This area was the basis for Phase 2 Consultation: Part 2, and is shown in Figure 4.3.

78.

Within this area, construction logic dictated that the converter station for the first project, East Anglia ONE, should be placed at the furthest point from the access road, Bullen Lane. A temporary works area associated with East Anglia ONE was then defined around the compound location for East Anglia ONE, and named the Converter Station Temporary Works Area (East Anglia ONE 2012d).

79.

Two additional converter station locations were identified within close proximity to the East Anglia ONE converter station location. These locations were determined at an early stage of East Anglia ONE, based on landscape and engineering considerations predominantly. These footprints were then assumed for the cumulative landscape assessment for East Anglia ONE.

80. During the PEI works for East Anglia THREE, EATL reviewed the locations of converter stations assumed for the East Anglia ONE assessment. No changes were made. For the purposes of PEI it has been assumed that under Scenario 2 the East Anglia THREE and East Anglia FOUR converter stations remain the same, even in the absence of the East Anglia ONE converter station. These are shown in Figure 4.4.
