affect the Historic Landscape Character. This will occur along haul roads as well as potentially along any new accesses. The magnitude of effect is judged as low as only a narrow area of disturbance (5.5m) is anticipated, resulting in an impact of minor significance. However, this impact can be largely mitigated by the reestablishment of any important hedgerows resulting in an impact of negligible significance.

25.6.2.2.2 Scenario 2: Trenching 104. There will be some direct effects during the construction phase on a number of historic field boundaries and hedgerows; this in turn can be considered to affect the Historic Landscape Character. This will occur along potential haul roads as well as along the route line itself. The magnitude of effect will depend on the length of hedgerow disturbed but is judged to range from mediumto low and leading to an impact ofminor tomoderate significance.

105. Mitigation for this impact will be set out in an outline landscape and ecological management strategy (OLEMS), in line with that agreed with the local authorities and Natural England as part of East Anglia ONE. Mitigation measures agreed within this will include, for instance; special engineering measures to allow micro-routing of the working width through existing narrow gaps (e.g. alteration of construction methodology and machinery). The strategy would also include measures such as the re-establishment of any important hedgerows, resulting in an impact of negligible significance.

25.6.2.3 Impact 3: Built Heritage 106. Impacts during construction are considered to be largely the same, other than potential additional access routes required within scenario 1, therefore both scenarios are presented together here.

107. There are no predicted direct effects to any designated heritage assets along the proposed cable route however there will be some temporary setting effects during the construction phase on a number of designated heritage assets. Given the temporary and indirect nature of this effect, the magnitude of effect is negligible and the impact is ofminor to negligible significance.

108. There may be some potential effects from vibration on designated heritage assets near to the cable route and access roads. The overall impact of this is likely to be substantially reduced under Scenario 1. However for both scenarios it is judged to be of negligible magnitude and in addition, mitigation measures relating to vibration caused by construction traffic will be set out in an Outline Traffic Management Plan, to be submitted with the final ES. Therefore, the impact is considered to be ofminor significance.
