37 flint flakes found during South-east Suffolk Survey (fieldwalking).


Possible ditched field boundaries, trackways and enclosures of probable late prehistoric date are visible on aerial photographs as cropmarks, Kirton parish


A post-medieval sea bank, Martlesham, visible as an earthwork, on aerial photographs taken in 1945, just to the south of where Martlesham Creek branches off the main channel of the River Deben. The 1st and 2nd edition Ordnance Survey 25" maps of circa 1884 and 1904 depict a bank in this position suggesting that the flood defence is of Post Medieval or earlier date
