Description


Monitoring of water main renewal - results suggested no major archaeological deposits existed directly along the route of the pipeline although area immediately east of the medieval church was backfilled before monitoring could take place. A general background scatter of finds was seen.


Monitoring of footings revealed no archaeological evidence.


Evaluation - Manor Farm, Kirton Series of test pits revealed 2 probable modern features. Nothing of antiquity was revealed, despite the site forming the possible location of lost Domesday Hamlet of Strewston.

Informal watching brief on small road scheme - road straightening to remove bend. Two sherds medieval courseware found.


Conditional planning consent for an extension to Kings Knoll, Broom Hill, Woodbridge, required archaeological monitoring of the associated groundworks. This showed that a thin layer of disturbed or redeposited topsoil sealed undisturbed natural subsoil.


Conditional planning consent for an extension to Hill House, Great Bealings, required archaeological monitoring of the associated groundworks. The building footprint revealed no archaeological interventions or artefacts.
