In comparison to most finfish species, shellfish have more limited mobility and may not be capable of escaping construction activities causing physical disturbance to the sea bed. In particular, the egg masses of ovigerous (egg-bearing) species would be potentially vulnerable to physical damage. However, due to the temporary and short term nature of the effects, the sensitivity of these receptors is considered to be medium. As previously stated, the magnitude of the effect is negligible to low; therefore the resulting in an impact of minor adverse significance.
