CDISC Japan – Develop Innovate Advance


What do you think the acronym DIA means? Perhaps… Drug Information Association? I recently participated in DIA Japan (in Tokyo) and learned that DIA now stands for Develop Innovate Advance. Kudos to DIA leadership for rebranding DIA with a view toward the future. These words seem to also epitomize CDISC and the clinical research community in Japan. For over a decade we’ve been Developing, Innovating and most importantly Advancing together.


I awoke early my first morning in Tokyo. It was a clear crisp day. Upon opening my window shades, I could not believe what I saw in the distance – Mount Fuji. After 3 previous trips to Japan, I did not realize you could see this majestic mountain from Tokyo. I took a picture to capture the moment. Each morning of my visit she was there to greet me, glistening with shades of pink, orange and yellow from the sunrise. I knew this was the beginning of an amazing week.
