standards, best practices and business models are critical to keeping costs down while fielding capabilities faster,” said George Graves, Chief Technology Officer of GECO. “We fully support the FACE consortium goal of affordable, reusable software, and we were proud to team with Arizona State University to host this important gathering.” Graves stressed that the consortium’s


approach of standardizing software standards “gives our customers access to the best value products by incorporating affordability through FACE principles.” FACE objectives include encouraging innovation and competition within the avionics industry, lowering implementation costs, and promoting the use of standard interfaces that will lead to reuse of capabilities. GECO is one of numerous


consortium members that represent all disciplines within the industry. The consortium also includes the Air Force Research Laboratory, NAVAIR and the U.S. Army PEO Aviation. GECO’s innovative products support numerous aerospace platforms, including the U.S. Air Force’s KC- 46A Pegasus tanker aircraft, the U.S. Army’s AH-64E Apache combat helicopter and commercial electronic flight instrumentation systems.


The FACE Technical Standard FACE Technical Standard is the


open avionics standard for making military computing operations more robust, interoperable, portable and secure. The standard enables developers to create and deploy a wide catalog of applications for use across the entire spectrum of military aviation systems through a common operating environment. The latest edition of the standard further promotes application interoperability and portability with enhanced requirements for exchanging data among FACE components and emphasis on defining common language requirements for the standard.


INAIR LEGACY AVIONICS SOLUTIONS PLEDGES CONTINUED SUPPORT FOR HONEYWELL DU-870 DISPLAY


UNITS THROUGH 2030 INAir Legacy Avionics Solutions announces the continued support and repair of Honeywell DU-870 (P/N 7014300-901 & -902) display units. INAir has built a solid reputation with these repairs over the last 20+ years for both commercial and general aviation operators and has solidified a dedicated team to handle repair, overhaul and exchange of these units. Additionally, INAir has established strategic sourcing agreements with


manufacturers for critical components within DU-870 displays, those of which include high voltage power support and the CRT. The in-house engineering department at INAir has also developed both special tooling and dedicated test sets needed to precisely troubleshoot and repair the DU-870.


The company has continued to


develop other resources to improve their ability to isolate failures within the units, with the goal of making their repair process even more efficient. With these resources, INAir is able to deliver competitive turn times as fast as seven days from quote to completion. With a dedicated team and exchange units available, INAir provides flexibility, capability and service needed to reduce downtime and extend the operating life of these displays.


The Honeywell DU-870 is a


display unit that features a large 8” x 7” display area with 16-color display with a high resolution CRT and symbol generator integrated into a single LRU and is used in Primus 1000 & 2000 systems. “INAir is proud to be able to build on our experience in the repair, overhaul and exchange of the DU- 870 display. Our expanded support means operators with this equipment will continue to have economical options with regard to repair, rather
