FUNCTION & COMPONENTS

FEATURED EXHIBITORS

Good design begins with the product provided by the supplier. At interzum 2017 the Function & Components sector demonstrated just how customers’ growing demands in terms of technology, energy efficiency, comfort and convenience can be met. Spread across six halls, in this section of interzum 2017 visitors could find exhibitors displaying innovative lamps and lighting systems, semi-finished products for cabinets, kitchens, offices and modular furniture.

Key exhibitors this year included, Granberg Deutschland, Knoop, Meaton, polmor, Pozzoli and Sevroll UK. Function & Components addresses the producers of semi-finished goods for modular furniture, office furniture, tables and chairs, light and lighting systems, fittings, locks and furniture components.

Arne Petersen, Vice President Trade Fair Management of Koelnmesse GmbH, explained: “Individuality and sustainability were the themes of the Function and Components section. Here, companies that develop light solutions or semi-finished products for furniture, fittings, locks and furniture components could be found. At the Piazza everything revolved around the themes ‘Upcycling and Recycling’ this year. “The material researcher, Dr. Sascha Peters, demonstrated the

how furniture industry can transform seemingly

worthless materials into new products and thus contribute towards the conservation of resources.” In the ‘innovation of interior’ special event area, the potential of upcycling models and the evolution of sustainable materials cycles was demonstrated.
