Thorben Wieck received the prize for his project 'Smarter vaccination pass – app for vaccination status', currently in his fifth semester at the Muthesius Kunsthochschule, Kiel. David Wojcik was recognised for his Bachelor thesis 'Bloop – Autotransfusionssystem für Blut'. And Thomas Theling was a winner for his 'Timelight – Interactive Floor Light and Clock' project, created in his first Master semester at Dresden University of Applied Sciences. The 'Honoured' awards went to: David Gebka, for his study project at the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart 'Habitat – autonomous bee house'. t interzum, the jury for the 8th VDID Newcomers' Awards named four main prize winners from the 136 applications submitted by young designers from 33 universities. The jury also recognised four
diploma thesis 'Spielbein – variable Sitzobjekt' at Darmstadt University of Applied Sciences. The members of the jury were enthusiastic about the quality of the submitted projects. The selected winners representing a section of the wide range of industrial design in different sectors from high to low tech. Julian Sommer's SKOP – Microscope, said the jury,
creates an intelligent connection between classical science and the current digital possibilities. You get to study your work to go outside and explore nature in this modern way.
