SEPT 10–20 MARVEL UNIVERSE LIVE! Expect a supersized showing of superheroes at Marvel Universe Live! This action- packed live event will have fans of all ages cheering for their favorite Marvel characters, with aerial stunts, pyrotechnics, motorcycles and more. The supernatural comes to life with an original story line acted out by more than 25 Marvel icons, from Spiderman to the Avengers and even a few X-Men. SEPT 19 TIM AND THE SPACE CADETS Get ready to blast off to a musical adventure with Tim and the Space Cadets. You might recognize musician Tim Kubart as the “Tambourine Guy” from the music collective Postmodern Jukebox or as the host of The Sunny Side Up Show with his cohost Chica the Chicken on the Sprout Channel. His brand of indie pop combines personal memories of childhood with fun lessons for both young and old. Catch him on tour as he promotes Home, his new album. OCT 24 THE HALLOWEEN GATHERING Enjoy family-friendly frights at the inaugural Halloween Gathering, presented by the Chicago Cultural Mile Association. This free event kicks off with activities at 2pm, including a youth costume parade in Maggie Daley Park alongside workshops for kids in Millennium Park. The celebration puts a focus on the arts, with live music, performers wearing costumes and masks, and a parade for all ages on Columbus Drive at 6pm. Various locations (312-332-9000,
