Belgian profile extruder Deceuninck boosted both sales and profits in the first half of the year. Sales were up nearly 6% to


exceed €330m, while profitabil- ity (REBITDA) surged by 27% to reach €32.5m. This brought profit margins close to 10% – which, said Deceuninck, was due to efficiency improve- ments, and the phasing out of some low-margin products. “We are pleased with our

Bemis sells to Custom


US-based Custom Profile has acquired the plastic extrusion business of Bemis Manufacturing Company. Terms of the deal have not been revealed. According to Mibiz.com, the acquisition by Custom Profile – which is owned by private equity firm Black- ford Capital – will expand the company’s customer- base and market segments. Custom Profile hopes the acquisition will help it reach further into the health care and automotive markets. The company primarily serves the office furniture, appliance and recreational vehicle industries. “This acquisition is a

– and the progress we are making with the implementa- tion of our operating plan,” said Francis Van Eeckhout, CEO. “However, we are closely monitoring the increased macro-economic uncertainty in some of our key markets.” Sales in Western Europe for the period were up 7.4% to nearly €95m. The rise was driven by new product launches and a one-off product income, underpinned by modest market growth, said the company.


Central and Eastern Europe was the only region to see a decline, with sales falling 2.6% to just over €76m. The main contributor was a continuing decline in the Russia market, and the depreciation of the rouble. However, growth in Turkey and the Emerging Markets sector was buoyant – up more than 10% to exceed €103m. At constant exchange rates, this would have been 25%, said Deceuninck.


In North America, a market


growth of 4-6% helped to boost sales by 7%, lifting revenue to nearly €56m. The company added that


several large projects – includ- ing a new factory in Menemen, Turkey, and a new facility on the west coast of the USA – are on track. “This, together with the


ambition to invest further in efficiency and new technolo- gies, will result in significantly higher Capex levels in both 2016 and 2017,” said Deceuninck. ❙ www.deceuninck.com

The Extrusion and Engi- neering Center of Excellence will offer engineering consul- tation and design services for custom extrusions for a variety of end-uses, while showcasing Pexco’s industrial extrusion capabilities. The centre, located within

an existing 65,000 sq ft facility in Morrisville, Pennsylvania, houses 12 extrusion lines – in- cluding three devoted to product development. In addition, there will be space for customers to collaborate with Pexco engineers and production specialists. “With our extensive
