Recycling technology | 2016

Recycling technologies on the rise at K2016

This year’s online catalogue for K2016 shows around 250 separate companies exhibiting products in the ‘recycling’ category – including size reduction equip- ment, melt filters and recycling lines. There is even a new category – for ‘separating and sorting systems’ – which was absent at K2013. Here, we showcase a selection of relevant exhibits in these areas, which are of interest to pipe and profile extruders. Erema says it is ushering in ‘Recycling 4.0’ with the launch of its Careformance concept. Careformance consists of four components: its

Intarema recycling system; its QualityOn package of sensors; its Re360 Manufacturing Execution System (MES); and its online shop. “Building on the high degree of automation of the

Intarema systems, we have developed a Smart Factory package that enables us to give customers a clear competitive edge and make them fit for the future,” said Manfred Hackl, CEO of Erema. QualityOn is a set of specially integrated sensors that

can be used to record and evaluate melt volume rate (MVR), colour and moisture. The package helps

K2016 will host a wide selection of technologies – ranging from

granulation and washing, to metal separation and melt filtration – that help get a second use out of plastics

recyclers and producers to make their recyclates with consistent quality, and document them using online data acquisition and analysis. Re360 is a sophisticated MES that can keep track of

the productivity of an entire range of machinery in five modules. “A key benefit of Re360 is that it works independently of the plant manufacturer,” said Hackl. “Customers can integrate different systems and their global production locations.” Re360 gives an overview of the capacities and
