Profi le: Melitek supplies materials and packaging technologies to the global medical and healthcare markets. It has extensive experience in the substitution of PVC in medical applications, including tubing and fl exible fi lms for fl uid bags. The company is building a new high-effi ciency 1,200 m2


plant which is expected to be


completed in September 2014. Two new compounding lines will raise nominal capacity by 15,000 tonnes to a total of 25,000 tonnes/year. Melitek is involved in the development of compounds for the Non-PVC Blood Bag Project, a European research initiative.


Product line: Products marketed under the Melifl ex brand name include polyolefi n or elastomer-based compounds for tubing, fi lm extrusion and moulding. Custom- made medical compounds are based on PE, PP, PS, ABS, TPE, TPO and TPV and are tailored to specifi c customer requirements for colour and functionality, such as laser marking, low friction, low antistatic and UV block.


Product strengths: Melitek supplies innovative compounds that meet strict medical and pharma requirements. They are produced according to GMP, ISO 10993 and USP and sold with an extensive medical service package.
