Lehmann & Voss buys WMK Plastics
Lehmann & Voss, a producer and distributor of chemical and mineral specialities, has acquired WMK Plastics, a technical compounder based at Solingen in Germany. WMK employs around 40
people at Solingen producing engineering plastic compounds for multiple applications in the German-speaking regions of Europe. Its services range from grinding and granulation to production of colour and technical compounds. Lehmann & Voss share- holder Dr Thomas Öhmichen
said the acquisition opens up a new product area for the company. “In addition to our high-performance compounds and functional masterbatches, we now have a third strategic product group that offers our customers competitive technical compounds with a broad service range,” he said. WMK Plastics managing
director Thorsten Rosenbohm will remain at the head of the company, which will operate as an independent subsidiary within Lehmann & Voss. ❙

Correction: WR Grace In our coverage of WR Grace’s plans to spin off its Darex
Packaging Technologies business in last month’s edition (CW August 2015, page 8) it was incorrectly stated that this would include the Sylobloc anti-block product line. The company says that Sylobloc is not, in fact, part of the Darex business and will remain within WR Grace. The spin-off will include the com- pany’s oxygen scavenging technology.
