Right: Sikora will demon-

strate its Purity Scanner pellet inspection system

Below: The TeachBox basic is at the heart of Wittmann’s new net5 conveying technology

Sikora will exhibit its Purity Concept for the inspection and analysis of pellets, flakes, films and tapes. The modular- designed systems are available for on and offline use and are based on X-ray, infrared or optical technologies. They are suitable for a wide range of applications, including online process control and analysis and online inspec- tion and sorting of plastic pellets. The pellet inspection system is claimed to ensure that only pure material passes on to the next stage in any production process. It combines X-ray technology with an optical measuring system and can detect contaminants from 50 micron on the surface and the inside the plastic pellet. Contaminated pellets are removed automatically. ❙ www.sikora.net

Steer, which will be exhibiting in the India Pavilion, will place its main emphasis on its Omega 1.71 Do/ Di Smart compounding extruder, which features the company’s patented fractional lobe geometry, as well as its

recently extended line of high

process efficiency screw ele- ments, next-generation plant engineering solutions, advanced

technologies for recycling applica- tions, and barrels & EPZ elements with new metallurgy. The company says that its twin screw compounding extruders are designed to

control shear in demanding applications in industries as varied as construction, automotive, electronics and electrical. The company focuses on process control, with high volume, high torque equipment said to be able to achieve outstanding compound quality when processing shear-sensitive materials – particularly effect pig- ments, natural fibre reinforced compounds, long glass fibre reinforced compounds and other low bulk dense and difficult-to- manage applications. ❙ www.steerworld.com

Wittmann will be presenting updated versions of its Feed- maxBasic and Feedmax Plus

74 COMPOUNDING WORLD | October 2016

material loaders, both designed for incorporation into a full material convey- ing system using the TeachBox basic control system. Feedmax Basic is a central loader with discharge shut-off

valve capable of high material through- puts over long distances. Key features of the 6 litre capacity loader include potentiometer controlled conveying time and a lid free of vacuum connections, which simplifies cleaning. The Feedmax Plus offers an 80 litre

capacity that also offers potentiometer setting but differs from the Basic variant in its material discharge arrangement. The unit can be used at the machine inlet

when high material throughputs are required. Both loaders feature integrated filters in the lids and ambiLED displays, while all parts in contact with the plastic material are manufactured from stainless steel. The TeachBox basic system is the centrepiece of Wittmann’s new net5 system. It offers the ability to control up to 24 devices, two vacuum circuits and up to four of the company’s Aton plus dryers, as well as filter stations and suction valves. Features include automatic identification of linked equipment and simple operator interface and system status display. Wittmann will also display a number of other recent additions to its equipment line-up including the recently launched G-Max 12 beside-the-press granulator, Tempro Plus D temperature controller and the WL80 and W853 robots for small and large moulding ma- chines respectively. ❙ www.wittmann-group.com

X-Rite Pantone will show a full selection of products for the design, development, production and quality control of colour in the plastics industry. Key products of interest to compounders include the Color iMatch Ci7x00 series benchtop and MA9x, Ci6x and 964 45°/0° spectrophotometers. The company will also demonstrate

how offline and inline colour measure- ment solutions such as its VS450,

VeriColor and ERX130 units, can deliver quality statistics proactively and, in the case of inline solutions, can be utilised to correct colour issues even before they become visible to the human eye.
